On Monday we put in an offer on a BANK OWNED (we were done with getting our hopes up on short sales) home in Cedar Hills, Utah. Much to our dismay, within hours the bank got back to us and by the next day we were under contract.
Today is Thursday and we have put forth our earnest money, are having the house inspected tomorrow and are predicted to move in by July 6th.
I think I am afraid to believe if this is all real because I have gotten my hopes up on a home before...but assuming it is real, here are a few pics.
The house is a great buy. It is in an excellent family neighborhood, right next to American Fork Canyon. It has plenty of room for just the two of us (plus many more when needed), a three car garage and a large backyard. I have already become consumed with considering what oven, fridge, and furniture to buy. I also already have about 10 home improvement projects I want to carry out such as painting the interior of the garage, putting up cabinets in the laundry room, changing the paint color on the exterior, planting trees, sprucing up the bathrooms and kitchen, etc.
If all things go according to plan, it is going to be a busy and fun summer and year.
PS-my commute just got even longer!

Congrats on the house! You're probably having "buyers remorse" right now but once your in YOUR new home Im sure you'll just love it!
WOW, it's gorgeous! I love it, and Americsn Fork canyon will be such a fun place to live by. How big is it? the kitchen is cool, I love the island - the side paneling is unique, I really like it. I am insanely jealous that you actually have space. :-) Maybe I should just move back to Utah and see if ryan will follow...
I'm going to be in Utah from aug 12-16 so if everything works out I can't wait to come by and see it!

Congrats! It's beautiful. Buying a house can be a little scary, but I'm sure you'll love it once you're in. I'm so excited for you.

Yeah...I am so exciting for you! I bet your mind is going 100 mph thinking of all the possibilities. Your creative mind will create an amazing masterpiece...I can't wait to come and see it.
shannon and ty! that's awesome! the house looks great. we've put in a few offers on some short sales as well and it BLOWS. No one ever told us house shopping was so emotional! But way to go, I'm really happy for you guys!
